The iconic film Glory made famous the story of the Massachusetts 54th Black Civil War regiment. No less important, but not nearly so well known, is that of the Connecticut 29th Black regiment. Among the first Union soldiers to enter a fallen Richmond in 1865, the 29th have not always been lauded or even acknowledged.
