CEJC Hosts Free “Lunch and Learn” Series for Professional Conservators, Starts September 23, 12-1 PM

The Coaltion for Elder Justice in CT, the Elder Law Section of the CT Bar Association and the Office of the Probate Administrator have collaborated to provide a series of “Lunch and Learn” sessions for Conservators. Speakers will share the tips and tricks for advocating for residents in nursing homes and answer questions.

While designed for attorneys, other professionals may attend and can find benefit from the information provided. Our first session, listed below, is scheduled for Thursday, September 23, 2021, 12- 1 PM. Please join us!

Nursing Facility Advocacy 101: The Importance of the Care Plan Meeting, 9/23/21, 12-1 PM

Speakers: Attorney Julia Brown and Long-term Care Ombudsman, Mairead Painter, will provide an overview of the importance of actively participating in nursing home care plan meetings and how these meetings can be useful means to advocate for a resident under a conservatorship. They will also discuss how to engage the assistance of the Connecticut Long-Term Care Ombudsman’s Office to enhance your advocacy for your client.
