DPH Hosts Training Sessions for Community Partners to Share Key Vaccine Information

As part of the COVID-19 vaccine rollout, DPH is organizing several upcoming training events for community leaders on key information and messaging associated with the vaccine. The goal of the training is to give community leaders confidence as trusted messengers and champions in the vaccine rollout.

The trainings will occur in small group settings on Zoom and be co-hosted by the DPH community outreach team, a clinician familiar with the vaccine, and fellow community leaders. We welcome participation by yourselves or individuals within your organizations who serve in public-facing or outreach roles to communities, whether as a leader of a faith-based group, an outreach program lead, a community health worker, or otherwise. By the end of the session, participants will be armed with the messaging, data and tools you need to go out into your community and encourage residents to be vaccinated. The training will also be a great opportunity to listen to what others are experiencing and share best practices.

Our first event will be taking place next Tuesday, February 16th, and more will be scheduled in the days and weeks to come. If you would like to attend an upcoming training, plan a training for your organization, or be included in future outreach on new materials for community organizations, please email your contact information and organization name, along with indicating your interest to Carter Johnson ([email protected]) and Meghan Palmer ([email protected]).
