Popular Seniors Benefits program Receives $120,000 Award

Norwich, CT – The National Council on Aging (NCOA) recently awarded $120,000 to Senior Resources
Agency on Aging’s Benefits Enrollment Centers program, a popular program providing seniors
preliminary screening and claim assistance for a host of state and federal benefits.


In announcing the award, Angela Bonham, Program Associate at NCOA’s Center for Benefits Access,
remarked, “On behalf of NCOA, we look forward to working with you to improve the lives of low-income seniors by assisting them in applying for and enrolling in benefits.”


Laura Crews, Senior Resources’ Director of Benefits Access, responded, “We are pleased with NCOA’s
generous contribution to this most important program. Informing our elderly area seniors of the many
programs available to assist them in meeting their needs and solving their problems has proven an
invaluable service. As an added benefit, our counselors are happy to assist them in determining program
eligibility and filling out applications.”


Senior Resources’ Benefits Access programs include energy assistance, home care for elders,
pharmaceutical assistance, SNAP (food stamps), Medicaid (Title 19), Medicare, tax relief, supplemental
security income and much more.
