| Dear Colleagues, We are pleased to share a new blog by Sherrill Wayland, MSW, “LGBT Community Stands Strong Against Isolation During COVID.” As the nation began to take shelter at home during the early days of the COVID-19 Pandemic, SAGE, a national advocacy and services organization for LGBT older adults, knew that older LGBT people would be at risk of isolation which in turn meant an increased risk of elder abuse. The SAGE team quickly began working to address this issue. Leading to the birth of SAGEConnect and the National LGBT Elder Hotline. These programs have provided the much-needed emotional support and connectedness to LGBT older adults during these challenging times.
