Please join Attorney General William Tong, Department of Aging and Disability Services Commissioner Amy Porter, Long Term Care Ombudsman Mairead Painter and the Coalition for Elder Justice in Connecticut for a press conference at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 3 outside the Office of the Attorney General to launch Connecticut’s Elder Justice Hotline.

Attorney General Tong and Department of Aging and Disability Services Commissioner Amy Porter will re-launch the state’s Elder Justice hotline. Going forward, the Office of the Attorney General will staff the hotline, and will be available to field calls and connect older adults  and their families to the appropriate state agencies to provide the support and resources needed to allow all persons to live as independently as possible as they age, promote individual rights and prevent elder abuse. We will encourage older adults and their families to use the Elder Justice hotline as an access point to those resources, and to know that state officials are available to help. In conjunction with this event, the Office of the Attorney General will unveil a new webpage that will enable older adults and their families to access resources online. The Office of the Attorney General is proud to take on this new responsibility in providing this additional resource to assist anyone needing information to improve the lives of Connecticut residents and we hope that you can join this event and help share the hotline and website information with your followers, community members, and constituents.
