Understanding Healthy Aging

We are seeking participants for a research study that will identify neural pathways associated with well-being in older adults. Participants will be asked to complete a 60-minute Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan that will involve viewing several images that may elicit positive, negative, or neutral emotions. Participants will also be asked to complete several questionnaires about mood, attentiveness, well-being, and demographics. Participation should take no longer than 1.5 hours, and participants will receive $50. Participants will complete this study in the University of Connecticut’s Brain Imaging Research Center, on UConn’s Storrs campus.

To be eligible to participate:

Must be 65 or older

Fluent in English

Right-handed

Able to lie on your back for one hour

No metal in body

No history of neurological or psychiatric disorder or cognitive impairment
